Our Dermatology Staff
When searching for dermatological treatment, you seek the services of professionals who are well-trained, attentive and responsive, and supportive. You will receive this type of care from Dr. Dyer, Dr. Criscione, Nurse Practitioner Meighan Blanco, and Physician Assistant Katie Sliney, as well as the support staff in our office. We look forward to getting to know you and providing your dermatologic care.
Nancy Soave, RN, DNC, is our Registered Nurse and Senior Nurse Educator. She has provided patient care in a variety of settings. Most recently, Nancy has specialied in dermatologic nursing, including Mohs surgery, wound care, and skin cancer prevention and education. Nancy works closely with our providers, assisting them with the management of your medical, surgical, and follow-up care. She is Board Certified by the Dermatology Nurse Association, and is one of only a few nurses in Rhode Island, and one of only few hundred nurses nationwide, who have earned this prestigious credential. Nancy and her husband have three children.
As our Practice Manager, Nancy Stonely is responsible for overseeing many of our day-to-day operations, including scheduling and billing. She helps patients with a variety of issues related to their visit. Prior to joining us, she spent twenty years managing a busy Rhode Island dermatology practice. Nancy and her husband have two daughters.
Nicole Richard is our senior Certified Medical Assistant. She works with Dr. Dyer, assisting him with all aspects of patient care. Nicole has worked for several dermatolgists in Rhode Island; her extensive experience covers a broad range of tasks. Nicole and her husband have a four-year-old daughter.
Laura Buco is our senior Patient Support Specialist, and recently earned an associate of science degree in physical therapy assistant studies at the New England Institute of Technology. She answers the phone, schedules appointments, verifies insurance coverage, checks in patients for their visit, and assists with billing issues. She brings several years of managerial-level experience to our office. She lives with her partner and his 12-year-old daughter.
Diane Catarina is a Certified Medical Assistant who joined our team in 2013 after twenty-two years in the fields of Radiation Oncology and Primary Care. She works primarily with Physician Assistant Katie Sliney. Diane and her husband have two children.
Sandra Mattias is our bilingual Certified Medical Assistant who received training from the Sawyer School. She also is a Nationally Certified Clinical Assistant. She has more than ten years experience in primary care. She and her husband have 9-year-old twin daughters. Her 20-year-old son attends Johnson and Wales University.
Tonya Bager is a Medical Assistant who graduated from The Sawyer School. She joined us in 2013 after fifteen years in the customer service field. She works primarily with Nurse Practitioner Meighan Blanco. Tonya and her partner have two sons.
Cindy McKitrick is a Patient Support Specialist who will promptly greet you when you arrive. She answers the phone, schedules appointments, verifies insurance coverage, and helps check patients in and out for their visit. She has over seventeen years of supervisory experience. Cindy and her husband have three children and a granddaughter.
Deborah MacKay is a Patient Support Specialist. She received certification from New England Technical Institute and has worked for more than ten years with a dermatologist in RI who recently retired. Her older son and daughter are retired from the Air Force National Guard and her youngest son is enlisted in the Army. She has twin granddaughters.
Kim Allen is a Medical Assistant. She recently joined us after spending twenty-four years working in the medical field, including ten years specializing in the field of dermatology. She works primarily with Dr. Criscione. She lives with her husband and their two teen-aged boys.
After graduating from LaSalle Academy, Monica Wiant enrolled at the University of Rhode Island with a major in Global and Environmental Health. She works during the summer and part-time during the school year as a Medical Assistant. She is planning a career in the field of medicine.
Sophie Clode is a Medical Assistant. She joined us after graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Biological Sciences. She works primarily with Nurse Practitioner Meighan Blanco. She is planning a career in medicine. Sophie volunteers at Habitat for Humanity, URI chapter and The Delaware River Shad Fishermen’s Association
Christina DiPalma is a patient support specialist with 14 years of experience in the field. Christina specializes in billing coming to us from Dominion Diagnostics in North Kingstown RI where she was a Medical Billing Clerk.
Lauren is a medical assistant who recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island. She obtained her Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences and plans on pursuing her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Lauren enjoys skiing, boating and snowmobiling in her spare time.
Lauren Roberts has 9 years of experience working at the front desk in an urgent care and primary care setting. She also has experience in medical billing. She is currently pursuing a masters degree in Health Care Administration and Management. In her spare time she likes to spend quality time with her husband and their 6 month old daughter.
Maggie Costa is a Medical Assistant who joined our practice in 2016. She works with Nancy Staley in our Westerly office. Maggie has 8 years experience in the dermatology field. She lives with her boyfriend and they enjoy playing softball in their spare time.
Cassidy Vadnais comes from a vast background of customer service. She currently works at the front desk and assists in any way possible by checking in patients for their visit, answering phones, and scheduling appointments. She is currently going to school at CCRI. Her hobbies include reading, cake decorating, and spending time with family.
Katie-Anna Havell is a former Connecticut resident and joined our team of Medical Assistants in 2016. She has extensive experience in customer service. She lives with her significant other and their cat Salami. Her hobbies include baking, swimming, and long weekends on Block Island.

Kim and her husband have one daughter.
Megan Ferrara is a Patient Support Specialist. She has over eighteen years in the customer service field. She works primarily at our front desk and to check patients in and out, coordinate appointments, and verify insurance. Megan has four children.
Melaina Volpe is a Medical Assistant who joined our team in 2016 after spending many years in the customer service field. She plans on furthering her education in the medical field. She enjoys skiing, snowboarding and spending her summers on Block Island.
Kristy Marble is a medical assistant who joined South County Dermatology in 2016. Prior to working in dermatology she worked in an orthopedic surgery office. She is the proud mother of three children; Kassidy, Ayden and Anthony.
